Marine Floats - ILC Dover

ILC has designed and manufactured numerous marine floatation systems for a variety of customers over the past several decades. We have applied our materials and seaming technologies to create leak-free assemblies that are highly reliable. Our responsibilities on these programs include systems engineering, analysis, vehicle interface, design, test and manufacturing.

We have designed and manufactured several floatation systems for use on space vehicles. Some of our products include:

•  Ares I booster recovery floatation system for ATK. These floats are lightweight, large volume coated fabric assemblies that are attached to the base of the vehicle to provide buoyancy in sea recovery
•  EELV Recovery Spray Shield for Boeing. Inflatable shield provided protection to the P/A module in sea recovery. 60 sec staged deployment in 20 ft/s wind environment. Full scale system tested
• .Trident II missile inflatable protection systems. ILC designed & produced several configurations of high-temperature inflatable structures (300 psi, 500oF) to prevent damage to the engine during sea launch.
