Job Title:  Finance/Market Analyst

Summary:  Responsible for performing financial and market analysis.  This position reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer; additionally, the incumbent will interface with the President and other Senior Staff members on various financial analysis projects.

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Analyzes complex financial information and reports by collecting, monitoring and creating financial models to provide accurate and timely financial recommendations to management for decision making purposes.
  • Performs extensive market research and evaluates market penetration; analyzes competitors.
  • Examines a project’s return on investment.
  • Identifies positive financial outcomes to increase profitability.
  • Prepares financial and business related analysis and research in such areas as financial and expense performance, rate of return, depreciation, working capital, and investments.
  • Prepares consolidated forecasts and budgets and analyzes trends in revenue, expense, bookings, backlogs, sales, capital expenditures and other related areas.
  • Maintains and develops various financial models and standard templates for use during the planning processes, ensuring quality, accuracy and focused analytic review.
  • Prepares presentations to Board of Directors and Senior Management Team.
  • Monitors performance indicators, highlighting trends and analyzing causes of unexpected variance.
  • Identifies financial status by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts.
  • Evaluates optional plans by identifying outcomes and potential returns.
  • Researches and resolves Business Unit(s) inquiries.
  • Protects operations by keeping financial information confidential.
  • Creates databases and captures finance and market data.


  • Bachelor’s Degree is required
  • 2 years of prior work experience preferred
  • Must have strong analytical ( quantitative as well as qualitative) skills including building models, prior data mining and on line market research
  • Excellent computer skills, including Excel and PowerPoint; Financial modeling expertise a plus
  • Must be inquisitive and solve problems creatively
  • Ideal candidates will have excellent oral/written communication and presentation skills, a proven ability to build relationships, and strong business and financial acumen
  • Candidates must be able to interact with all levels of management and be an integral team player
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail are critical as the Finance/Market Analyst will often face shifting priorities on multiple assignments
  • Highest standards of accuracy and precision
  • Strong work ethic with a positive, can-do attitude
