1. Is the SCape® CBRN30 NIOSH approved?
Yes. Approved by NIOSH as a 30-minute General Category Escape Mask under the Standard for Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) Air-Purifying Escape Respirators (September 30, 2003).
2. What distinguishes the SCape® CBRN30 from other systems?
The system contains an integral blower that automatically comes on when the system is removed from the package. The blower improves the protection and reduces the physiological burden on the user. The SCape CBRN30 fits the working population with a single size. In addition, the system has no mouthpiece or nosecup to hinder communication. Lastly, the product was designed and is produced by ILC Dover - NASA's space suit designer/producer and the producer of the M40 US military mask.
3. Can people with beards wear SCape® CBRN30?
Yes. The product is specifically designed to provide excellent protection for individuals with beards and facial hair. The filtered air supplied by the blower and the comfortable neckdam seal create this protection. Note: in order to get a proper seal with the neckdam the sealing surface must be free from hair
4. Does the SCape® CBRN30 work with eyeglasses?
Yes. Unlike most face seal masks, the SCape® CBRN30 works with standard eyeglasses.
5. Can you talk while wearing a SCape® CBRN30?
Yes. Unlike hoods with nosecups or mouthpieces, the wearer can freely talk in the SCape® CBRN30 hood.
The user can communicate with their family and even effectively use a cell phone
while wearing the SCape® CBRN30.
6. How long does it take to don the SCape® CBRN30?
It normally takes less than 10 seconds.
7. Is the SCape® CBRN30 hood made in the US?
Yes.
8. What sizes are available, and what range do they fit?
The system has been designed to fit users with neck circumferences from 12.0 inches (30.5 cm) to 17.75 inches (45.1 cm) and a maximum head circumference of 26 inches (66 cm).
