Sentinel Clear XE™ & XE ATEX

ILC Dover’s Sentinel Clear PAPR System designed for use in Europe’s pharmaceutical industry.

 

ILC Dover’s Sentinel Clear™ Hood, combined with its XE blower, is a best-in-class powered air purifyingrespirator (PAPR) that delivers a TH3 level of protection—the highest level available under EN 12941. Our Clear Hood solutions are superior when compared to other PAPR facepieces and hoods. They offer a full 320-degree field of view, which increases both safety and productivity. When paired with our lithium polymer battery, the XE blower weighs just 1 kg and delivers 220 LPM airflow for a full 12 hours.  We now offer an ATEX approved version of the system as well (Series S-3800)

The Sentinel Clear XE™ and XE ATEX™ Powered Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR) systems are designed to deliver clean, breathable air in pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical environments—especially where airborne contaminants or explosive hazards may be present.

1. Air Intake and Filtration

The system begins with a high-efficiency blower unit (standard or ATEX-certified), which draws ambient air through a HEPA or A2P3 filter cartridge. These filters efficiently remove hazardous particles, vapors, and gases.

2. Air Delivery

Filtered air is pushed through a flexible, extendable breathing tube into the Sentinel Clear, panoramic hood, which features:

- A 320° field of view for enhanced safety and mobility.

- A dual-skirt design for added protection and secure integration with protective suits.

The airflow supports the hood comfortably on the neck and shoulders, eliminating the need for rigid headgear.  The positive pressure created in the hood helps the product deliver TH3 protection levels, the highest available under EN 12941.

3. Power and Operation

Each system is powered by a rechargeable lithium polymer battery:

- Up to 12 hours of runtime.

- Single-button operation and an easy-to-read battery meter simplify use.

- Quick-Loc belt or backpack options allow flexible wear.

4. ATEX Compliance (XE ATEX Only – S-3800 series)

For environments with explosive risks, the XE ATEX system includes:

- A blower certified to EN/ISO 60079-0 and 60079-11.

- IP54 ingress protection and reinforced housing.

- Safe operation in Zone 2 (gases) and Zone 22 (dusts).
