DoverDoQ™ Contained Powder Transfer System

DoverDoQ™ is a patented, semi-automatic contained transfer system designed to solve critical challenges at the liner-to-process interface. It creates a secure mechanical connection between flexible liners and processing equipment, supporting safe, compliant, and reliable powder transfer in pharmaceutical and chemical applications where containment, operational reliability, and process efficiency are critical.

Built on ILC Dover’s expertise in powder handling, flexible containment, and regulated manufacturing, DoverDoQ™ combines robust engineering with a streamlined, containment-focused design for high-performance potent powder transfer.

Engineered for Confident Contained Transfer

DoverDoQ™ is designed to support safer, more efficient material handling by combining high-containment performance with reliable, repeatable operation.

Dover Q

Qualified Containment by Design

DoverDoQ™ supports validated processes with measurable containment performance, helping manufacturers meet the demands of pharmaceutical and chemical processing environments. The brochure review notes that DoverDoQ™ has been developed to reach a containment level of at least <1 µg/m³.

Reliable, Repeatable Connections

The system creates a secure mechanical interface that helps reduce process variability, minimize manual handling, and limit the risk of unintended operator exposure.

Efficient One-Person Operation

DoverDoQ™ is designed to streamline connection and disconnection workflows, enabling a single operator to safely and efficiently manage the transfer process.

Improved Operator Safety

By reducing hands-on interaction during critical transfer steps, DoverDoQ™ helps minimize exposure risks and human error in high-potency powder applications.

Broad Liner Compatibility

DoverDoQ™ works with ILC Dover solutions such as DoverPac® and D100 while also supporting FIBC and drum liners from other suppliers across various diameters and materials. This should be emphasized clearly because the review comments identify third-party liner compatibility as a target message for the product.

Designed for Rated Areas

Designed with safety at its core, DoverDoQ™ was developed for use in rated areas, delivering dependable performance in challenging and potentially hazardous operating environments.

Proven ILC Dover Expertise

DoverDoQ™ was developed by ILC Dover’s Engineering Center of Excellence in Switzerland and is backed by decades of precision engineering, containment experience, and customer support.

Key Benefit

Helps protect operators, reduce contamination risk, improve transfer efficiency, and reduce retained powder

DoverDoQ™ creates a secure, engineered interface between a flexible liner and the process connection, helping maintain containment through connection, transfer, and disconnection. With controlled engagement and minimal operator involvement, the system supports predictable, repeatable powder transfer while helping reduce exposure risk and protect product integrity.

Designed to integrate into existing transfer setups, DoverDoQ™ supports efficient contained operations without adding unnecessary process complexity.

Dover Q

1. Position the FIBC Liner

The connecting liner is positioned at the charging or discharging station to prepare the system for a controlled docking sequence.

2. Dock to DoverDoQ™

The liner is attached to the patented DoverDoQ™ system, and the operator initiates the docking process to create a sealed, contained connection.

3. Secure the Interface

Multiple attachment points help stabilize the liner and maintain a reliable containment interface throughout the transfer process.

4. Transfer the Powder

Powder is transferred through a full opening, supporting efficient material flow while maintaining containment during operation.

5. Manage System Pressure

When used with dispensing or dosing systems, DoverDoQ™ supports pressure balancing to help prevent liner overpressure.

6. Seal and Undock

After transfer, the connecting neck is sealed and cut. Compatible liners can be sealed using ILC Dover’s crimping system, with alternative sealing methods also available.

7. Replace the FIBC

The operator initiates the undocking sequence through the controller, places a new connecting sleeve over the previous transfer bag stub, and removes the remaining stub through the trash-out port.

DoverDoQ™ is designed for powder transfer applications where containment, operator protection, and process reliability are critical. It is especially relevant for pharmaceutical and chemical manufacturing environments involving potent powders, flexible liners, FIBCs, drum liners, and charging or discharging operations.

DoverDoQ™ uses a semi-automatic connection system that allows a single operator to transfer powders through an open port with no valve interruption. This helps streamline powder transfer while reducing retained powder and minimizing manual handling.
